Project Name: project Leeway
Version:
V 1.0
Synopsis:
Designing and planning an artificial intelligence tool to assist with natural disaster responses.
Project Aim:
The aim of the project is to create a tool using AI for New Zealand that will help predict earthquakes and be able to warn people and direct them with the best actions they can take in the situation and what protocols are to be followed. We will focus on New Zealand as it is a country that is affected by earthquakes due to its geographical location and would benefit from this.
Background:
The A.I. will read various pieces of data, such as seismic waves in New Zealand.
Existing A.I. was proven to read data and make conclusions 20 times faster than humans for earthquake monitoring, greatly increasing the chances of survival in a disaster.
Objectives:
Research any causes of natural disasters to figure out if there is a pattern for the A.I. to utilise.
Iterate on how our digital solution will communicate with the people about to be affected by a disaster.
Create rough drafts of the visual design for our solution, accounting for accessibility.
Team Roles:
