Feedback on Prototype Presentation, 21st November 2023 - Katie
- Found this presentation confusing, didn't understand what he was being shown.
- We need to learn off our notes beforehand to keep things tight.
- If you do want to use que cards, take your script and break it down into key words. Put these key words onto the que cards so that they keep you track but prevents you from reading from a script.
- Speak slowly and clearly.
- Synopsis slide should be laid out by clearly labelling each step (Step 1, Step 2, Step 3) while not losing the visual component.
- Get rid of the boxes on the Objectives slide and just lay them out in order (Step 1, Step 2, Step 3).
- Final step of our Objectives should be "Testing" not "Final Presentation".
- Use Sans Serif font, Roboto Serif is more often used for print media and not as appropriate for a presentation.
- There's too much information on the Danger Area slide.
- This presentation provided very little evidence of us developing our ideas and had very little detail.
- Present your ideas as a team-- do not single out a concept as Tala's idea or Éanna's idea.
- We need to only include the relevant information. Don't make the relevant information difficult to find.
- Rough sketches shouldn't make it into the presentation. That's behind the scenes work that should be left on the blog.
- Images need to be larger. It should be immediately obvious what the images are communicating. If necessary, they should be clearly labelled.
- Our prototypes shouldn't require instructions.
- Should not include handwritten notes on the slides. They add nothing and can't be read properly.
- Add more visuals to the Feedback slide.
- We emphasised the negativity too much-- we have to sell our idea.
- When practising for our next presentation, we should get it down to between 4 minutes 30 seconds and 4 minutes 45 seconds. This should give us breathing room for stumbles and pauses during the presentation.
